My Students

Our library is the center of learning in our diverse population. Our students visit the library often for a variety of reasons and we want to continue to serve them. Brockton is a large urban public school with almost four thousand students in the high school alone. Brockton operates its own school system for the city's approximately fifteen thousand, six hundred students

We are the city of champions and want to continue being that!

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over eighty percent of our students receiving free lunch. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can, so they can be successful one day. Our school serves students in grades kindergarten through eighth and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment.

My Project

It is important to have some fun while reading. Every Friday, I am planning on turning off the lights and students can read using their flashlights! This brings fun to learning. The book bags will be so every student can keep their books safe for readers workshop time. I will use the white board markers and Judy clocks so students can be hands-on when learning math.

Our school does not have a budget for supplies like this, and by being able to gift them with items to make their work easier and more special, they will continue to work hard.

A little appreciation goes a long way to students and my students give so much.
