After the pandemic, teachers have found that students' attention spans are seemingly shorter and shorter. We are having to incorporate more times for play even in older classes.
Students enjoy having fun while learning.
I have learned so many new techniques, games, and activities that I will be incorporating in my daily centers. These include Versatiles, MathStacks Jeopardy, task cards, card games, and so much more. These games use bingo counters, dry-erase markers, headphones, dice, and other materials.
Another way I engage students in class is through literature. Integrating other subjects in math is something I try to do as much as I can. One of my favorite ways to do this is by reading the "Sir Cumference" books.
To prepare these games and activities I also need things like laminating sheets, chart paper, hot glue, and storage/ organization bins.
