My students need a variety seating options that meet their needs, a variety of grade level books to foster their love for reading, and an easel to read morning messages.
“Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” - Rita Pierson. I want to be a champion for my littles by giving them the things that will make them successful.
First grade is an opportunity for great growth in many ways - academically, socially - it is this growth that makes these students love to learn.
While students are still learning to read, it is important to provide them with quality books to foster their love for learning to read. Making the jump to first grade is exciting and thrilling! These littles will need to be stimulated so they can focus and learn.
Acquiring age appropriate books to help the first graders I will have the privilege to teach will help grow young readers and writers. Providing students with nontraditional seating options will allow these littles to be able to move and stay focused throughout our day. Creating a morning message using the easel each day when my students walk in will encourage these sweet littles to use their decoding skills right at they walk into the classroom.
We are a campus that thrives on creativity, and these students need to know that they have the ability to be champions each day!
My Project
My students will come in to the classroom on the first day and want to return each day of our school year. Our students will be able to have a book clubs, have a variety of books to choose from that interest them, and grow as learners. The students will be able to do the "wobble" as they learn on their wobble chairs, keeping their growing minds stimulated and focused. These littles are will be excited to read messages as they walk into the class each morning to find out what our day has in store for them. These resources will help to make first grade a year of growth and memories for these creative littles!
My little's' eyes will come to life as they enter first grade!
Although nervous on the first day of school, once stepping inside our classroom, they will love to learn and come to school each day. Creativity will flow from our classroom as we encourage students to learn and grow this year! We can't wait for our new year to start with all of our new supplies!
