Help me give my students math folders, ten frame pop-it's, place value mats, and a pencil sharpener for hands-on learning in math centers to improve their knowledge by understanding place value.
Some students are able to learn by drawing pictures or numbers. However, some students need to be able to explore and actually manipulate hands-on tools to help deepen their understanding. I want to encourage these students that math can be fun and easy to understand.
Math game boards/mats and folders will be created and used to explore place value in my class and at home.
Ten frame pop-its would be a fun way to teach combinations of tens. Students will be able to see tens and ones as different units instead of counting every single number by itself. We also need a pencil sharpener and name tag holders.
