This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At the beginning of class or end of class, I allow two to three students the opportunity to share how they’re doing or anything interesting that is happening in their lives.

Learning how to share provides students with a safe place in which students can take charge of their emotions and do some activities of interest to calm themselves down.

They love to have the opportunity to sit on a flexible chair to share their day or feelings. The pillow pets will give them comfort while they share.

This activity allows students to connect with their classmates without the pressure of talking directly to someone they may not be totally familiar with yet. They can also practice compassion as they react and respond to any successes or struggles their classmates are facing.
