This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After meeting some of my future students and talking to their current 2nd Grade teachers, it is very clear they are going to need some support with their phonics skills as they enter 3rd Grade.
I want to start building on their phonemic and phonological awareness skills as soon as the year starts in a fun and engaging way; I am hoping these phonics games and manipulatives will help my future students stay engaged in their learning and help them be confident readers!
As they begin to make the transition from learning to read to reading to learn, I want to set them up for success for the rest of their educational journey.
