Remember sitting it that flat, boring, hard, and uncomfortable classroom desk? Of course, you do; everyone has had that experience, but it doesn't have to be this way! I implemented flexible seating in my classroom a few years before COVID, and now my students are in need of new flexible seating options.
Seating should be comfortable and inviting, and it should help to promote a positive learning environment; students are empowered when they can choose their seat.
My goal is to replace all traditional desks with flexible seating options (such as gaming chairs, couches, and standing desks). I have found that my middle schoolers would rather choose their seat instead of being assigned a seat. Furthermore, they would much rather choose a comfortable, non-traditional desk or a standing desk. Please consider helping to empower my students and give them comfortable seating options!
