My students need a cash register, magnetic money, 30 journals, plus other math manilupatives, and learning centers games, to learn the value of money and increase their financial literacy.

My Students

It's important to teach kids about money at an early age. Help my students become financially fit by learning to count coins, how currency is used, and money management in kindergarten and beyond.

My students are highly energetic and very much engaged in the learning process.

Each day at school is an adventure, discovering and conquering new material. Unfortunately, 100% of my class receives free or reduced lunch. This means that the socioeconomic status of every single student is at or below the poverty level. This translates to those students having limited to no resources and/or opportunities to help them become proficient in their academic endeavors. In fact, our school's student population of 500 is at least 98% impoverished. These sad facts, however, do not hinder their motivation. All that is needed are the proper learning materials to ensure academic success.

My Project

This project's goal is to teach the children how to identify and count coins, learn about saving and the value of earning money. Their lives will forever be impacted by early learning of financial literacy through various activities. I am requesting a real-working cash register, magnetic money, money sorting cash registers, money bingo, counting money puzzles set, journals and a coins rubber stamp set. My students will learn to identify coins/bills and their monetary value, count money, compare money, earn money, make purchases, save money, and journal their financial habits.

Learning early about money and money management will be most beneficial for the rest of their lives. Your partnership will help my students use money knowledge across the content areas of Reading/Language Arts and Math but, also, in financial literacy.
