Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are Kindergarten through fifth graders who are full of energy. They visit the gym multiple times per week for a scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the gym for recess and character education activities and mentor younger students. The students have adapted to the challenges, surviving and thriving in this different environment. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love playing various sports and learning about the positive impact movement has on their bodies and minds, not only in the gym but across all disciplines. There are over 900 students in our school! I have many English language learners and newcomers to the country this year. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all fantastic kids!
