My Students
My students are in an ICT setting in all 4 classes and although they struggle they are great kids. I'd like to make sure they have have a chance to have some fun during the school day. I'd like to open up my classroom twice a week during lunch so that my students can come and play boardgames with one another.
This will give them an opportunity to bond with their teachers as well as each other and allow them to create a safe space within the classroom.
My Project
Outside of math I feel like it has been difficult for me to get to know my students this year. The curriculum is challenging for them and between testing and performance tasks there hasn't been many opportunities for us to have fun.
I would like to raise money to purchase board games for my students to play during their lunch hour.
I feel like this will assist them in developing their social skills as well as their character.
Games like Cranium, Battleship, and Pictionary will allow students to not only have fun, but bond with one another and their teachers in a trusting environment that is both educational and fun.
