My Students
Our middle school has approximately 800 students. We are a diverse community school in a large school district. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds but all have a willingness to learn. Many of our teachers are innovators in their fields and are trying to accommodate the needs of all of our students.
Our students are energetic and love to learn.
They are curious about the world around them but also want to have at school. I would love to see more community and parent involvement at our school and have some fun and engaging activities during the school day or after school.
My Project
Our school is working hard to improve parent and community involvement. These materials will add to our activities during our family fun nights. The goal of these nights is to help raise attendance at our PTA meetings, bring families and the community together, increase family engagement, and give our students a fun and safe place to hang out with their friends and family. These games will provide fun evening events throughout the year.
Getting families, teachers, and students involved in our school activities will help build morale and school pride.
These games will also be used during the school year as rewards for our students through our PBIS program. This will help to increase academic performance since students will need to maintain good academic behavior in order to take advantage of some of these rewards. Through our PBIS system, we will be able to measure and evaluate student behavior as the rewards are "purchased" with their PBIS points.
As an added bonus, we will also have some fun photo booth items for students and parents to take pictures and post to our school Twitter and Facebook pages to let the rest of the community see the fun things happening at our school!
