Fun and Food!

Help me give my students some new Math games to make K Math centers more exciting and please help me assist grades 3-5 with getting snack food for their 3 days of EOGs.

My Students

As a Title I school, my school serves a diverse population of underprivileged students. Approximately 67% of our 660 students (442) receive free or reduced lunch. We have 61 students at our school who are classified as homeless – and that number does not include the 40-50 students who live with grandparents or other extended family members who struggle to care for them. Because many of our students come from homes with limited resources, we diligently work to meet the needs of the “whole child;” academics, social, food, clothing etc. This project is requesting assistance with purchasing snack food for our students in grades 3-5 for their 3 days of EOGs, as well as some new Math games for my Kindergarten class.

My Project

I have chosen snack foods such as Gold Fish, Chewy Bars and Pop-Tarts for our nearly 400 students in grades 3-5 because I know they are foods they will eat!

Last year was my first time asking for donations to supply our upper grades with snack food for the mornings of their EOGs and it went extremely well.

The other items on my list are Math games for my classroom. The homemade games at our centers are not very exciting and the children are not interested in using them. I have shopped for games that should bring some excitement to their Math centers.
