Help me give my students some awesome new materials for our flexible seating classroom! We are in need of some new stools to sit on, new lap desks to work on, and bouncy bands!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in the South Bronx where all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. The students here come from a low socio-economic group and often don't have many new and interesting learning materials at home. School is the place where they are exposed to many different things.
My students are very motivated to come to school and learn.
They love learning new things and are always ask great questions. The students get very excited when we are learning about new topics and even more so when they are using new materials!
I would love to be able to supply the students with new, exciting materials to help spark their interest in learning even more. I am hoping to be able to change the environment in my classroom to make it an even more inviting and comfortable place for students to take risks and learn. My Project
Last year was my first year using flexible seating in my classroom and the students just LOVED it!! This year, I am looking to add some new seating options for them. The new set of stools will give the students the ability to choose to sit on a chair or on a stool.
Bouncy bands help to keep the students moving and engaged!
They go on the bottom of the chairs and students can bounce their legs while focusing on their work. Finally, the new lap desks will give students the ability to move around the classroom and work in different locations, but still, have a hard surface to work on.
