Fun and Calming Ways to l Learn

Help me give my students calming and fidget items to help with a calming area when needed. I would also like to provide my students with books to read and word games to help them be successful in reading.

My Project

As a small group reading and math interventionalist, I am committed to providing a classroom that is safe and comfortable with the supplies that target specific skill deficits. Many of my students are struggling to learn sounds and sight words. Markers and other writing tools will be used for writing sight words. The pencil sharpener will also help keep pencils sharpened since they are used frequently daily. With the right writing tools, students are more motivated to participate in repeated practice/drill exercises. A calming area is needed for them to relax in if they have a moment that is hard for them to navigate through. The carpet, pillows, and decorations will assist with emotional or sensory regulation. I also want to provide my students with rewards for improvement and working hard. The candy and stickers will be added to my treasure box for rewards. The laminator will be used to keep the decorations and other important information protected. The Air purifier will help with students regarding germs and will keep the air cleaner. With winter approaching flu season is around the corner, the Lysol wipes will be used to wipe down the table after every session.
