Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting a variety of cardstock for our arts and various crafting needs, but mostly to use with our Cricut machine and STEAM projects. I have noticed a great interest in handmade products from our school community and my art students really enjoy making these items. Many are used for fundraising, in collaboration with other academic courses. They learn how to create budgets, inventory our products, receipts of sales and take orders for future sales. For my entrepreneur-minded students, this is the first step in financial literacy for a small business. Students will benefit from having good quality materials to set up their products for sale. From previous projects, we have a lot of ribbon, so kids can design and hand draw beautiful designs they will be proud of to sell. My students especially need cardstock when building and creating small engineering and fabricating projects. We use card stock in our collage projects, printmaking, and my senior use it when decorating their graduation caps which provides them with a lot of joy and pride.
