My Project
Kindergarten is a place full of joy-filled learning. Every day is a new adventure and my students never grow tired of exploring, playing, and trying new things. It is a delight to watch them discover something new or talk to their friends about why something will or will not work or how to try different ideas to make something work that did not work out initially.
My students work and play hard throughout the school day; it is wonderful watching their creative minds think and learn.
We use a variety of manipulatives and materials at center time during developmental play. The materials in this project are all items that I would like to add to our free choice center materials. STEM options in an early childhood classroom are excellent at allowing students to do what they do best: learn through play. Depending on the materials, children can come up with all kinds of clever creations and ways to problem-solve and think of new ideas that are absolutely amazing.
The materials in this project include two interactive iPad games, one uses doctor equipment to problem solve and the other is an exploration on dinosaurs! Also, I would like to add a couple of new sets of Hot Dots activities and interactive pens that give immediate feedback for accuracy; these activities will help engage my students during the fourth quarter as we start to move into harder curriculum. Also, this project includes a dinosaur construction drill set where students can take apart and put together dinosaurs. They will be thrilled to have these new options to choose from. I am always looking for new materials to add to our collection and am hopeful and eager to add these new items to the mix. Thank you for your consideration!
