This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! Their enthusiasm for learning never ceases to amaze me. They work hard every day, staying engaged with hands-on activities and games that help them practice their skills and increase their knowledge. I love giving them the opportunity. We are a low socioeconomic area and highly diverse school in Central California. Nearly all of my students' learning happens at school. Most of my students have not traveled beyond our city walls. We are a small school with a big heart!
My Project
My students need KNEX building materials to get our STEAM lab started. These materials will inspire my students to get up out of their seats and tap into their creative selves.
My students will develop inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking skills through opportunities to incorporate the arts as they practice engineering and math in a stress-free, creative, and collaborative environment.
The arts will be integrated as my students will design buildings, bridges, and their own limitless creations during their school day.
My students will be so excited to use these materials! In addition, these building materials will help us meet Next Generation Science Standards for modeling the concepts of force and motion by building simple machines.
