My Project

My kindergarteners have now made it through over 100 days of learning and fun. Some of the wonderful supplies we started the school year with have been used and well-loved. Markers have run dry, watercolor wells have emptied, building materials have been in high demand, and a need for more STEAM supplies has emerged.

My students enjoy and benefit from exploring through curiosity, play, and hands-on learning.

I have recently implemented STEAM centers as a meaningful way to end our day. While engaging in these centers, students will continue to grow academically while also honing their communication and social skills like collaboration, problem solving and turn-taking.

The funding of this project will allow me to provide supplies like wooden community helpers to go with our wooden big block engineering center. While students learn more about coding on Code.org or explore science experiments on MysteryScience, headphones will help them to focus while other students around them will be collaborating on larger creations using the additional Brain Flakes from this project request. Art supplies like the markers, watercolors, dotters, whiteboards and multicultural colored paper from this project will be for students who wish to create from their imaginations in an artistic hands-on way. The brickyard blocks will give students a new means to stretch their imaginations in creating structures. STEAM ensures that my students' knowledge base is well-rounded. Not only will we be ending each day on a high note, students will also be growing with hearts and minds full.
