it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love learning through hands-on experiences and discovery. I teach at a STEAM Magnet Center and teach integrated lessons using science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. I teach my students using the Trans-disciplinary approach, where the use Scientific Method, Engineering Process and the constructivist approach to solving challenges cooperatively.
My students use their critical thinking skills to persevere when solving challenging problems using STEAM materials and resources.
We are in need of engaging STEAM resources that are interesting and engaging and can be used in different scenarios, problems and challenges throughout the year and during different contents. Magnetic tiles, marble challenge, building bricks, kits with materials that focus on specific scientific concepts such as magnetic field, push and pull will help my student learn these concepts through discovery and observation. Having materials and resources that focus on civil engineering such as bridge building or structural buildings in important for my students to develop and engage in the engineering design process as they challenge themselves by modifying their prototypes and improving their designs.
These STEAM materials and the organization station would be an amazing addition to classroom. My students would greatly benefit from these resources as they continue learning about the world around them.
