My Students
My students and I have created a culture of STEAM. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Our school is very diverse with a population of students with several special needs. Our school chooses to celebrate all the talents of our students and we are extremely prideful about doing just that every day.
We are excited to infuse STEAM in all subject areas.
Our students are motivated to incorporate 21st century learning skills into every problem they face. Our students are growing up in a different world than many of us did before. We need to prepare them for a new future.
My Project
Students are moving Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead with coding and programming this school year. We are a K-5 coding school. Students are very diverse and we need to offer our students engaging opportunities in order to motivate them into learning difficult to understand skills like coding and programming. Our goal is to prepare students for the future. As you know, many of the jobs our students will apply for may not even be created at this time.
I am excited to bring coding and programming opportunities to all students.
My younger students will use kid friendly text in order to build off of the story and apply their new learning by using coding and programming learning tools that mimic familiar toys.
