Full STEAM Ahead!

My students need STEAM materials to help them do their explorations.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hashizaki's classroom raised $712

My Students

My 22 budding scientists come to our class full of curiosity. They love to explore and figure out how things work.

Their willingness to try out their theories are magic to watch.

Where adults would be cautious, they are risk takers who learn through experimentation and mistakes.

Kindergarten is their first experience with formal education. I love sparking their interest in things and watching them continue to explore independently. What a dream it would be to have a future scientist in my class who can solve all the world's woes.

My Project

With the emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) being brought into the classrooms, I would like to expand upon our current studies of life and physical science.

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin

As the famous scientist and inventor stated, "involve me and I learn". It is with this quote in mind that will guide our hands-on activities.

Through investigations utilizing the scientific method and our 5 senses, my students will be able to use the different construction sets to explore the best ways to construct habitats for the animals they will study. They will learn what animals need and create habitats in which the animals can survive. They will also use their art materials to construct real or imaginary animals out of recycled materials. The art materials purchased will allow them to let their imaginations run wild.

Shelving will provide organization to the new kits that we will be using and a home for our many projects.

The same kits will also be used to study physical science and the push and pull on motions of objects. We will be able to construct ramps of varying degrees to observe the effect it has on the object's speed.

My budding scientist and I would like to thank you for considering funding our project and look forward to more science in our futures.
