Full STEAM Ahead!

My students need a STEM bundle, magnetic tiles, K'NEX and an electronics kit so that I can allow time to work as a collaborative team to promote science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in an engaging, creative, and collaborative way.

My Students

My school is home to just over 700 students in Draper, UT. We pride ourselves on positive interactions with students and staying on the cutting edge of new technology. We work together as a family-type team to provide access to the most current and updated materials to all of our elementary students. We hope that through donorschoose.org, we can fund some of our classroom needs to provide all students with a creative, successful learning environment! Thank you so much for your consideration!

My Project

I have chosen many varied kits and supplies that will allow me to promote a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) time every day in my classroom. Each child will be able to work with a partner at a shared center to promote collaborative and creative problem solving. Each center will be contained in an easily accessible box or bin so students can work on STEAM activities any time!

Most of the centers I have chosen (Robot Hand, Quake Safe, Freshwater Filter, Snaptricity Electric Circuits, Don't Lose Your Marbles, Bridge Design, and Brain Teaser Puzzles) contain non-consumable pieces, so the centers can be used repeatedly for decades!

They also include design ideas and/or explicit instructions that students can easily follow. The centers that do not have instructions (like the K'nex, Lego-style building blocks, and look-alike Magformers magnetic shapes) allow creativity, but there are also many FREE resources that I have access to that allow for project guidelines and structure also!

I will be using my own money to purchase the storage bins and art supplies to make a fully operational STEAM center area if this grant is fully funded. Thank you so much for your consideration! My current/ future students and I thank you!
