This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a low-income, high-poverty area. Many students are English Language Learners and need experience with the language. They may not have many opportunities at home after school or on weekends to practice their English skills.
All of the students at the school qualify for free lunches.
Many come to school hungry and tired because their families are concerned with affording day-to-day necessities. The school is a safe haven for many students. They need to create good working habits in order to succeed in the future!
My Project
Learning what is new in the STEAM world is something we need to be up to date with in the classroom. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math are subjects that will lead us into what is already the 21st century!
STEAM will get our students where they need to be among global students!
The world is changing on a daily basis. STEAM subjects are becoming the best preparation learning for young students. LEGO bricks can lend themselves to this type of learning. Creating, critically thinking, and measuring are just some of the skills students will use when building with LEGO bricks. Students will then gain skills that are being used among the workforce today!
