This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredibly visual learners! With learning two languages, I have found many of my students need to use their senses to make meaning. What better way to help make meaning than hands-on projects to reinforce vocabulary AND keep them excited about learning!
My students are creative thinkers who deserve to think critically about the world around them in a way that works with their dual-language abilities, not against it!
That is why, having projects where students can SEE the math, science, and engineering in action, where they can feel the pieces in their hands, they can use that language meaningfully. The items in this project will help students build creative engineering projects, design art sculptures, and test scientific solutions all in a visual and hands-on way that promotes authentic language.
