My Students
It is very important that our students are in a comfortable and positive environment. In order to be productive in Mathematics our students must have the proper materials to create, learn, and solve math in our classroom. My students come from areas where their living situations may not be very comfortable. I want my classroom to be their safe haven when things in their environment may not be.
My students love to create and design mathematical ideas and projects.
They love to be able to work out and solve problems by using technology and share their understanding with one another. My students also love to create projects and work in their free time on designing, building, and creating math activities, Math Games, and lessons with whiteboards and markers. By creating them an environment to do so, it allows them to become high achieving students.
My Project
In order for my students to be productive in Math they must have the supplies needed to do so. Math is a subject many students are afraid of. I try my best to incorporate engaging activities to make math less intimidating. Having engaging lessons allows students to take away the fear and see that math can be fun.
Preparation allows students to have a positive experience in math.
Positive thinking allows students to encourage themselves to have higher order thinking. When students have what they need they are less distracted in class. It is very Important to provide students with items that they may or may not be able to afford. That is why these materials will make a huge difference in my students' learning.
With the materials students will be able to use flexible grouping to create and solve math problems on the tacky white paper. They will be able to hand their work around the classroom as anchor charts. Students will be able to sharpen their pencils with the new pencil sharpener. The markers will be used on the tacky paper to create the anchor charts. Anchor charts are a great way for students to connect math to real world situations. With the laminating pouches we will be able to laminate their work using the laminator we have previously raised the funds for.
