My Project

Our library is the heart of the school—a place where curiosity, creativity, and technology come together. But there’s one big piece missing: we don’t have any iPads for students to use.

These iPads will open a world of possibilities for our K–5 learners.

With them, students will be able to program Spheros, explore 3D objects through Merge Cubes, and use educational apps that strengthen reading, math, science, and social studies skills. Having iPads in the library will finally allow students to experience hands-on learning through robotics, coding, and augmented reality—tools that bring abstract concepts to life and inspire deeper engagement.

My Students

We are a Title I school in urban Louisville, where many of our students face challenges such as poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to technology at home. Yet, they show up every day eager to learn, create, and explore. My students come from over 20 countries and speak many languages, but coding and digital creation give them a shared language of curiosity and collaboration.

My Plan

With these iPads, students will:

-Code and Create – Program Spheros, animate stories, and design games.

-Explore and Experiment – Use Merge Cubes to study science and math concepts in 3D.

-Collaborate and Communicate – Create multimedia projects that combine art, writing, and storytelling.

-Connect Across Subjects – Research, read e-books, and practice academic skills through educational apps.

These iPads will serve all K–5 classes during library rotations, ensuring every student has a chance to explore, create, and innovate.
