Full Bellies Equal Active MInds!

My students need Rice Krispies Treats, Pirate's Booty, Fiber One Bars, and two cases of bottled water for a full belly to be able to learn. This bottled water and healthy snacks will make sure my students are fed no matter what!

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If a child is sick, we make them healthy. If a child is thirsty, we give them water. If a child is hungry, we make sure they are fed. Once all their needs are met, we can then teach.

I work in a Title One school with about 98% of the students on free or reduced priced lunch.

Most of my students are learning English as a second language. They are sweet and eager to learn but do not have basic background knowledge. They are grateful for anything that they are given. I worry about them when there is no school, often we provide two meals a day and there is no where to go on the weekends or holidays. If they are late to school, there is no food until lunch. That is too long of a wait for a first grader.

My Project

I requested water and healthy snacks for my students. I will be able to give Rice Krispies Treats, Pirate's Booty or a Fiber One Bar to a child who has missed breakfast. When needed I will be able to give a snack to my whole class. When their basic needs have been met, it will be much easier to help these students reach their goals of becoming productive, amazing members of society.

My students will be provided nourishment by people they have never met.

They will know people in the world care about them. I believe this will make all the difference in the world.
