Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many different countries across the globe. They speak multiple languages and have unique traditions and practices that I love to learn about from them first hand. Their experiences are both incredible and harrowing, and yet we all come together in the same classroom to find comfort, education, a positive environment, and unique experiences.

What makes these students so special is that they all have something to teach each other, and they always have something to teach me.

Each year, I learn a great deal about my students and about the experiences they've had and the places they've been. In a world where new technology and traditional education is always at our fingertips, it's meaningful for me as a teacher to expose my students to special opportunities, unique trips, and a comfortable setting where learning is evident and expected, and students will remain engaged so that we can try new things and always remain successful!

My Project

This project is for a variety of healthy snacks that will allow my students to remain full and energized throughout the school day. Our new schedule means a much later lunch in the afternoon, and students will begin to get hungry and tired prior to this. I'd like to support them and let them know that I care about their well-being and health as well as their academics, and therefore would like to be able to provide chewy granola bars, goldfish, pretzels,or cereal bars for them. I've also included two plastic buckets to keep the snacks sealed up and safe. The thank you cards are for different projects, activities, and trips we complete throughout the year. I like to teach my students about the importance of saying thank you and always like to send thank you cards to other teachers or leaders that support us or help us along the way.
