Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a bunch of chatty, inquisitive, funny, and hardworking scholars who are in need of more than what they have currently. My 3rd and 4th graders come from a high poverty area and many of them are second language learners mixed with students with emotional issues and general education students as well.
They come from homes where parents try to provide the basic needs and only dream of giving wants to their children.
Our school has been recognized as being a high achieving school but we never want to stop pushing our scholars to excel further!
My Project
My students are always practicing what we teach them and we are trying to save paper so dry erase markers and dry erase sheets are a hot commodity in our class. Students know the routine of grabbing a board and marker at the beginning of Math class. They enjoy using these materials, so we go through them often throughout a school year.
We have been blessed with getting a new printer this year but the cost of the ink for it is costly.
Having brightly colored work and papers for my students to use really excites them makes them feel special and important. Printing pictures for my ESL students allows them to get a visual for vocabulary words that we are learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
