Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our preschoolers are busy building the foundations for a lifetime of learning. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many face economic hardship. Several are multilingual learners, navigating the world of school in more than one language. One of the simplest yet most powerful ways to support their learning is by making sure their basic needs are met, starting with snacks. For some of my students, the snacks we provide at school are their only mid-morning fuel. Hungry children have a harder time focusing, participating, and regulating their emotions. That’s why this project is so important.

These snacks are easy to serve, kid-friendly, and help give students the energy they need to stay focused and engaged during the day.

I'm requesting a supply of snacks including applesauce, pudding cups, Pop-Tarts, Ritz crackers, graham crackers, and juice boxes.

In the classroom, they’re learning to share, solve problems, ask questions, and express themselves. Something as simple as a snack can give them a sense of security and routine—and help them stay focused on learning instead of their hunger. With your support, we can keep bellies full and brains ready to learn. Your donation will bring comfort, nourishment, and a little bit of joy to some of our youngest learners.
