In our Life Skills department we serve and teach over 30 children everyday. Keeping our students happy and healthy is our main focus when we start our days. In order to achieve this goal we need snacks and a lot of them. Each student has just a few things they really like or will only eat so having these on hand at all times is necessary. With that comes the constant trips to the store on the way home or on the way to work to make sure our days will run smoothly.
Allowing our students to have what they need when they need it will only make for a smooth running day but also allow the students to get the brain fuel they need to learn.
Having generous donors help us reach our snack goals will allow us to keep our students happy and full throughout the day and especially being able to make sure the ones who need more get what they need before they go home as well. At our school and in our department we are all about no one being hungry in our classrooms because when your belly is hungry your brain is hungry and it is not working like it needs to. With these snacks we will be able to keep everyone happy and not hungry during their school day.
