My Students

The students at my school are well behaved, ambitious and willing to improve their language skills.

Many students intention on the first day is to come to school to learn and to evolve their learning processes and understanding.

My school likes to think of itself as a progressive school, however, the lack of technology within its walls contradicts this idea. Money is very tight at the moment and with the impending Common Core it is imperative that teachers have the capability to analyze and track students weaknesses. Unfortunately, the technology we have in the school does not meet the demands of the student needs.

My Project

During class time the students, who do not own a mobile device, will be able to access instant response programs, and my Spanish V students will be able to access Advanced Placement material.

This will allow me to track students understanding and I can then identify those students who need the requisite intervention.

During study session, these students will use the laptop to access computer programs that will further pinpoint weaknesses in a given grammatical or vocabulary area. The collaborative desks that I'll set will with the AP materials allow the students to work collaboratively during the learning process but their portability allows for private testing with the laptop.

The laptop will improve the Response to Intervention process in my classroom and will allow me to analyze student weaknesses and allow me to analyze my own understanding of how my teaching strategies need to be developed as well. They will be able to make new kind of projects like developing webpages and access AP central's resources.
