it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first-year teacher in an under-resourced school, I underestimated the speed at which I would be running through my supplies like pencils and paper. I love the commitment of my students as they fill their pages fully, asking for more work and whittle their pencils down to the stub. In addition to their math development, my students are learning how to be kind citizens in their communities. Creating rigorous conversations about our math topics and helping each other work it out creates a safe learning environment that I reward with materials they want such as fun pencils, erasers, and, every once in a while, candy!
