Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are enthusiastic, curious, and eager learners who face many challenges. As kindergartners in a Title I school, many of them come from low-income families, and for some, our classroom is a place where they feel safe and cared for. They thrive on structure, love hands-on learning, and work hard every day to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
However, by the afternoon, many of my students struggle to stay focused and engaged because they are hungry.
For some of them, lunch is their last meal until they go home, and they may not have access to snacks or food to sustain them during the day.
Providing healthy afternoon snacks would make a significant difference in their ability to focus and learn. Simple snacks like crackers, granola bars, and fruit snacks would help fuel their bodies and minds, ensuring they have the energy they need to succeed in our classroom activities.
Your support will help me provide consistent, fun snacks for my students. A full belly leads to a focused mind, and I know that even this small gesture can have a lasting impact on their ability to learn and thrive.
