Fueling Little Bodies With Nutritious Foods

Help me give my students Quaker instant oatmeal, cereal, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, Campbell's ready meals, and other nutritious food items.

My Students

I teach at a school that is located within a low-income community where many parents face unemployment and low-income jobs. It is difficult to provide students with items that are necessary for them to succeed.

I teach an eager group of third grade boys and girls that live in a rural part of Kentucky.

Each morning my students enter the classroom with smiles on their faces eager to see what the day will bring. Our school recognizes the importance of these students and strives to help each individual reach their full potential. Helping to meet their basic needs for food and clothing must come first, followed by other items necessary for success.

My Project

The food items in this project will help make it possible for students to have what they need over weekends and during other breaks from school. The food items include breakfast foods such as pop-tarts, oatmeal. granola bars, and cereal. Other items included are Campbell's Ready Meals, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, popcorn, and fruit. All items chosen are favorite foods for eight and nine year old children. In addition, they are easily opened and easily prepared so that students can feed themselves. Students will be given a certain amount of food items each weekend in hopes that it is enough to meet their needs while they are off.

With your help, my students will not have to worry about finding something to eat when they get hungry during breaks from school.

Donations to this project will provide my eight and nine year old students with the food needed to eliminate this worry. Thank you so much for helping my students to be healthy, happy and satisfied.
