My Project

Our Social Studies team will soon be diving deep into the pivotal events of the Cold War with a special focus on the Cuban Missile Crisis.

To enhance our understanding and critical analysis skills, I seek to provide each team member with a copy of Nuclear Folly: A History of the Cuban Missile Crisis by Serhii Plokhy.

This book will over them a comprehensive look at the crisis revealing the complexities and near-misses that brought the world to the bring of nuclear war. By studying this book, students will gain a perspective on international relations, diplomacy, and the importance of informed leadership beyond the scope of our traditional history classes.

By having personal copies, students can engage more deeply with the material, annotate, and discuss themes amongst themselves and with their teachers.
