This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading opens the door to new worlds, sparking imagination and curiosity in young minds. In my classroom, representation is my top priority because every student deserves to see themselves reflected in the books they read. When children see characters who look like them, share their experiences, or come from similar backgrounds, it fosters a deeper connection to reading and a greater love for learning.

Filling our library with books that feature BIPOC main characters, we create an environment where all students can envision themselves as the heroes of their own narratives.

Clipboards allow students to move around the classroom while staying engaged in their reading and writing activities. They create flexible learning spaces, support collaboration, and make it easier for students to take notes, jot down thoughts, or respond to reading prompts in a comfortable way. Clipboards promote an active and student-centered learning environment.
