This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My two classes are full of inquisitive 3rd graders eager to learn. They are part of a bilingual program known as EFL, also known as, English as a Foreign Language. My students are constantly ready to take on fresh information and learn something new. Most of them are new to the country and are always full of questions, wanting to know the world around them in a new language. Their curiosity is invigorating and refreshing, and it is contagious among our classroom community.
In my class, and in this program, my students get to learn and practice skills in an environment that requires them to get their "creative juices" flowing.
My Project
My students will be able to use these mobile Chromebooks for field investigations and survey tools to gather data and make it understandable. In Math, students will be able to analyze. In Science, students can investigate beyond surface-level understanding.
Having these tools in our class will enable students to engage, inform, and encourage student driven learning through technology!
With a new laptop station I hope to emphasize technology education as an opportunity to teach students how knowledge, tools, and skills in math and science can be applied to solve practical problems and extend human capabilities. With this added technology in our classroom it will be clear to students how Math and Science come together.
