Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is full of books, different types of technology, flexible seating, and music. Students are able to switch seats and complete their work all over the classroom, wherever and however they are most successful.

My students are a great group of students who love to move, create, learn, ask questions, and occasionally make a mess in the classroom.

I am lucky enough to have two classes of 4th graders for science. Whenever we have a lab to complete in class, you can sense the excitement from everybody, including myself.

My Project

One of the best things about 4th grade is their curiosity and desire to learn in different ways. To foster creativity in our studies, our class needs additional color ink for our laser printer. Printing out their hard work in full color not only brightens our room but also fills my students with pride and they are more likely to share their work.

Books focused on women that have made an impact in STEM careers and sports are bound to be a popular choice in our classroom library.

I would love to be able to expose my students to the amazing accomplishments of important women and they will hopefully inspire students to believe in their dreams and in themselves. Having an array of picture and chapter books is necessary to develop stronger readers.

Adding a variety of math, literacy, and science activities will allow students to move around our classroom and collaborate in small groups while learning. The file folder games from Lakeshore are going to provide extra practice of skills that we learn throughout the school year. They will also be great for early finishers and after-school tutorials. The Guided Math Workstations book will help support our math block and the needs of my students. Allowing students to learn in different ways will help reach all different types of learners...plus it's more fun for me and my kiddos.
