Fuel Our Bodies, Fuel Our Minds

My Students

My students are an energetic group of 2nd graders, who love to be at school. They explore the world with such an inquisitive view, and always want to try their best. My school is Title I, and all students receive free or reduced-price lunches each day.

Despite their many challenges, they are excited to learn.

My students come from such diverse backgrounds, each of them bringing something new to the classroom. Please help support my students!

My Project

This year I have seen the devastating effects COVID has had on my students' behavior. In an effort to be more trauma-informed, I have educated myself on the best ways to support my students.

One way to support my students is through healthy snacks, such as dried fruit, nuts, fruit snacks, fruit bars, Veggie Straws, peppermints Cliff Kid ZBars, Goldfish Crackers, Seaweed Snacks, and other delicious snacks.

When adults' blood sugar levels drop we become sluggish and irritable. Our students do as well, however, children are not as able to identify this drop; they simply become cranky and irritable. I want to provide my students with an afternoon snack, to prevent this drop. Little bodies need brain food to help them learn all day long!
