My Students
Our 4th grade students are bursting with excitement over reading the next great book! They read every day at home, every day in the classroom and some even read during their fun/recess time!
They have an insatiable hunger to read and devour each new book that they are presented with (yes, even the boys!!).
Unfortunately, with the speed and eagerness to which they consume through the pages of these great tomes, I'm having a heck of a time stocking our classroom shelves with new and exciting paperbacks.

My Project
Here are the facts: The more you read, the better you get at reading! Our students have a goal to read 100 books this year in 4th grade. How? Get them into reading.
We know that the best way to increase reading ability is to get kids excited about reading!!
My students take these books home each night and come back the next school day to share their excitement about what they read. I use them as read alouds to the entire class, and they are just riveted to their seats and hate when that time comes to an end for the day.
