Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are bright, curious, and hardworking, but they often face long school days filled with rigorous coursework, extracurricular activities, and challenging commutes. Despite their dedication, hunger can be a major obstacle to learning. Many of my students don’t always have access to consistent meals at home, and for some, school is their main source of nourishment.
With this project, I am requesting a variety of snacks to help keep my students stay focused and energized throughout the day.
Having access to nutritious snacks will allow them to concentrate in class, participate fully in discussions, and retain information more effectively. A simple snack can mean the difference between a distracted, sluggish student and one who is engaged and ready to learn.
My goal is to create an environment where every student can thrive without the distraction of hunger. Providing snacks in my classroom helps remove a barrier to learning, ensuring that all students—regardless of their personal circumstances—have the fuel they need to succeed.
What makes my students special is their resilience and passion for learning. They show up every day ready to work hard and challenge themselves, despite any obstacles they may face. Your support will help ensure that hunger is never one of those obstacles.
