Fuel for Focus: Feeding Young Minds

Help me give my students the nourishment they need to stay focused, feel supported, and succeed in school, because no child should have to learn on an empty stomach.

My Project

Many of our students in Southeast D.C. face food insecurity, which makes it difficult for them to stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn. With your support, I will provide essential items like Gatorade, breakfast foods, healthy snacks, and microwavable meals that students can take home. These resources will help ensure they have the nourishment they need to concentrate during the school day and feel supported beyond the classroom. By meeting their basic needs, we’re helping them show up ready to succeed, both academically and emotionally.

A student who isn’t hungry can focus, participate, and thrive, let’s make sure every child has that chance.

The storage cabinets will be used to store and secure the food items.
