From Wimpy Kids to Wizards: a Library They’ll Love

Help me give my students a diverse and exciting classroom library filled with engaging series like Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl, Dog Man, and more to build reading stamina, fluency, and a love for books.

My Project

The students at my school are energetic, curious, and full of potential, but many still struggle to build strong reading habits. Whether they’re developing fluency or searching for books that truly interest them, they often need the right series to unlock their love for reading.

The right book or series can change everything.

When students find a story they connect with, they keep reading, keep improving, and begin to see reading as something they enjoy, not just something they’re asked to do. This project includes engaging, high-interest collections like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl, Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. These books are consistent favorites among upper elementary readers and help build confidence and momentum.

We’re also including inclusive titles such as The Crossover series by Kwame Alexander and Who HQ biographies about civil rights heroes like Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela. These books reflect the diverse voices of our students and help all readers feel seen and valued. With these books, students will improve vocabulary, comprehension, and reading stamina while growing into thoughtful and motivated readers.

Your support will help build a classroom library students can return to all year long. These are books they’ll remember, reread, and recommend to their classmates. With your help, we can turn struggling readers into lifelong readers.
