From Wiggles to Wonders: Flexible Seating for Focused Learning

My Project

My first graders are full of curiosity, energy, and determination. They come to school each day eager to learn, share their ideas, and help one another. They’re wiggly, creative, and full of questions—which makes our classroom a joyful and busy place. I love how they cheer each other on, celebrate successes (big and small), and show perseverance when something feels tricky.

How These Resources Will Help

Flexible seating stools will give my students the freedom to choose a comfortable spot where they can focus best. Many young learners concentrate better when they can gently move or shift while working. These stools will:

• Support focus by allowing students to move in place without leaving their work area.

• Encourage independence as students make choices about where and how they learn best.

• Build collaboration by making it easy to form small groups or partner up for activities.

• Promote engagement by providing a fun, fresh alternative to traditional chairs.

With these stools, my students will have more opportunities to stay engaged, take ownership of their learning space, and channel their energy into productive, joyful learning.
