This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
CES has a comprehensive school reform program focused on early reading and math intervention. Teachers deliver engaging, relevant lessons that demand higher-level thinking skills. The students come from diverse upbringings, and home languages vary. Some lack necessities such as food and shelter, yet they come to school eagerly and ready to learn!
Unfortunately, we don't have all the tools to provide them with the best learning experiences.
Pre-K/Head Start is a comprehensive program that provides education, health, mental health, disability services, nutrition, parent involvement, and family support to address the young child's needs.
My students are special because they are Second Language Learners challenged daily to acquire a new language. They get very excited when they are introduced to new materials and resources. It sparks their interest and who can blame them? They are growing up in a world full of wondrous innovations and endless advancements. I would love to be given the chance to provide them all with the opportunity to be exposed to these new inventions and diverse learning formats.
The books, customs, and supplies will provide my students with the opportunity to acquire Spanish/English language skills. It offers many great applications that target all the language domains in Pre-K: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. They will also be given the chance to promote language and Socio-emotional skills. I believe the materials will help my Pre-K students be more engaged in lessons and provide them with fun activities that involve creativity and Socio-emotional skills.
