My Project
Technology is all around us, but do students understand how far we have come in such a short amount of time?
In this project, students will work in pairs or small groups to research the evolution of a specific form of technology, such as how we listen to music or take photographs, from the 1700s to the present day.
By using guided worksheets, Internet research, and collaboration, students will take on the role of historians and tech researchers to trace six steps of innovation in a chosen technology. Their final presentations will be displayed using tri-fold boards and creative visuals, helping them synthesize their findings and showcase them proudly.
In a fast-moving digital world, students often take today’s technology for granted. This project not only sharpens their research skills, but it also gives them a broader understanding of technological innovation, historical context, and cause-and-effect reasoning. By visualizing how things like music players, phones, or cameras evolved, students gain appreciation for invention, problem-solving, and the people behind the progress.
Their creative, hands-on displays will turn our classroom into a technology museum that celebrates their research, teamwork, and curiosity.
