From the Floor Up: Building a Learning Community!

Help me give my students a cozy classroom rug to gather for morning meetings, read-alouds, and lessons. It will create a warm, welcoming space where learning and classroom community can thrive.

My Project

I absolutely love how curious, kind, and full of energy my students are! As a first-year teacher, I’m especially excited because I had the opportunity to student teach in kindergarten last year—and many of these students are already familiar faces. We’ve built connections that make this year even more special.

Each resource in this project will help create a warm, welcoming environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

The classroom rug, for example, will be our gathering place for morning meetings, stories, and whole-group lessons—a cozy spot that builds community and helps students stay engaged. These tools will lay the foundation for a joyful and meaningful learning experience every single day!
