it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
According to Halmer, a Hungarian mathematician, "A good stack of examples, as large as possible, is indispensable for a thorough understanding of any concept, and when I want to learn something new, I make it my first job to build one." Please help us build a large, high-quality stack of examples!
We are a Title l high school in Arizona.
Our class consists of students with a wide variety of special needs including developmental disabilities, autism, speech and language disabilities, learning disabilities, physical limitations, and emotional disabilities. Hands-on activities are vital in order to make connections.
My Project
When it comes to mastering math skills, we find hands-on games and activities the best way to learn. Time, measurement, money, in addition to basic math facts are going to be vital for these students after they graduate. These are skills these students will need to be successful in their everyday lives. With the requested set of materials, we can make games, use them as manipulatives, and build our pile of examples to help us understand.
Students benefit from lots of practice when learning and mastering daily math skills.
Games and activities are a fun, non-threatening way to provide regular practice and they can be used to meet each students' learning needs. These materials would allow for that necessary practice and allow students to enjoy learning the lifetime skills they'll need.
