From Texas to Georgia: A Classroom Reimagined

My Project

For the past nine years, I have had the privilege of serving students from disadvantaged communities in Fort Worth, Texas. This year, I relocated to Georgia to care for my unwell father - leaving behind not only my classroom, but, all of the materials and resources I had built over the years. Now, I am starting fresh in a new school district, where I will be working with a similar population of students who deserve every opportunity to thrive.

My goal is to do more than teach academic skills; I want to help my students become resilient, compassionate human beings, ready to face challenges and care for one another.

A thoughtfully prepared classroom with the right supplies helps lay that foundation. I am requesting essential school supplies that I have found to be truly impactful through years of hands-on experience in the classroom. These include primary composition journals, jumbo crayons, dry erase boards and markers, stackable stools for flexible seating, easel pad sheets, and much needed storage solution like bookshelves and rolling carts.

These tools will support my students as they develop foundational literacy skills, engage in interactive lessons, and learn how to collaborate and take ownership of their learning space. With your help, I can set up a classroom where students no only grow in reading and writing, but also feel empowered, cared for, and inspired.
